Dublin taxi drivers are treated like dirt by the majority of the general public. For those who want to argue that with me I,ll just say that at least thats what we believe. Most of us do an honest job and provide a good and vital service to the public. Like all walks of life we have bad apples in the barrel, but the majority of us are hard working honest people that are trying to do a job in difficult working conditions which includes horrendous traffic jams and nowhere to park taxies for plying our trade. The photos in this album will show how our cars are left. This is just one incident (as time goes on i,ll get more). The photos show the main passenger seat is soaked (obviously from liquid, most likely from a child having an accident and urinating on the seat), sweets on the seat, sweets on the floor, and the liquid having soaked through the seat, running across the floor. Most people will think that this was the work of a drunken lout, but in actual fact it was from a job that involved a childminder returning home with 2 children from a trip to the cinema. The job finished around 9.30 pm and it was dark, so I did not notice the mess as it is in the back of my vehicle which is a large wheelchair accesible MPV. I did not discover it until the next passenger got into the car and he promptly told me that he was not sitting on that mess. I don,t blame him for that, I would not sit on it either. Ah well thats me off the road until I can get it cleaned tomorrow.
